これまでは単純な系(例えば均一な水溶液や固体)を対象として研究が展開されきましたが、測定機器や測定技術の進歩にともないより複雑な系(例えば微粒子と水の混合系や不均質な懸濁液など)を対象とした研究にも挑戦しています。その際に必要になる新たな研究ツールの開発にも取り組んでいます。伝統的な吸光分光法を用いた時間分解測定(時間分解吸収分光法)だけでなく、最近では共鳴ラマン分光や発光分光も時間分解で行えるよう、茨城県東海村の実験体系を改良しています。
Until now, researchers have focused on simple systems (such as homogeneous aqueous solutions or solids). However, with advances in measurement instruments and techniques, we are now conducting studies of more complex systems (such as mixtures of fine particles and water or heterogeneous suspensions). We are also developing new research tools necessary for such investigations. In addition to time-resolved measurements using traditional absorption spectroscopy (time-resolved absorption spectroscopy), we are currently upgrading our experimental setup in Tokai village, Ibaraki prefecture, to enable time-resolved measurements using resonance Raman spectroscopy and luminescence spectroscopy.
